Dear participants of this nice Forum,

I am guy from Canada who is currently living in Saarland) And I have absolutely no idea about prices or services that are going on in Germany. Especially maybe because I am an IT geek and know very few about cars [icon_biggrin.gif]

I bought a very nice car here: Audi A5 2.0tdi 190PS on multironic (0aw)

I was very happy with the car till this hot weather time at July and August. I had some strange behavior at the gearbox:

1. When I leave the parking lot and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and try to move forward, I have the impression that the engine RPM of the car rises but the car starts slowly, as if the gearbox is releasing the clutch late. Like it is catching lately. Very incomprehensible crap

2. А similar problem happened when I was standing on a slide. But do you see, I think this is not a problem in the chain, because when I just release the brake, after 2 seconds the chain works and raises the car up a hill even at idle

All above mentioned happened to my car when it was veeery hot weather. I want just be prepared guys, can you tell me how much it will cost for me to fully repair (in Germany you call it generalüberholung) the gearbox to have it working for another 100K km. Or how much it cost to buy a used one. And what is best solution?

I really dont want to sell my car, I like it very much.

P.S. Smoother start - Longer drive!

You have an 8-speed MT.
There you go into the transmission control unit, then in the basic setting, delete all learning values.
Wait until it has reset it.
Then go back and you should notice a difference in D compared to before.
Mt presses right now.
Test that first
When would the transmission oil be changed for the last time?

First of all thanks a lot for reply!

I have changed it at official Audi Service when it was 146000km, now it is 178000km. Dear Lubusch can I do the actions that you mentioned with ODBeleven? I have one from it, I have turned off start-stop with that device. Oh and one more question this ODBeleven tells that there is new firmware for my Gearbox, do you know, is it safe to do it by myself?

Try to delete the blank values with your system.
Audi should actually participate in the service with the new firmware for the transmission.

Hi dear Manfred,

3 days I was trying to reset the adaptation of gear box with my obdeleven, even bought a PRO version, but nothing works. It throws an error when I am pressing reset adaptation button. I was trying even to find coding (go channel 0, 10 and 11 for adaptation) but even this didn`t work . Simply I could not find that menu(( Can you maybe advice me some other product for my car? Or maybe place where I can do that?

With best wishes,
David

Hello
It should actually work.
Gearbox control unit then to basic setting, there then selection bar, delete all empty values.
There are still VCDS, but just to reset the empty values to spend 400 € would be nonsense.
Take a look in the forum in the VCDS user list if someone is nearby to reset the empty values.

Try that with your OBD eleven.
_Vehicle

_Applications

_Basic setting of transmission
The trigger.
It should work with the DSG.
Maybe that's not enough for your Multitronic.
Just try it
